Amanda Allen holds a BA in History from U.C. San Diego, a Masters in Education from USC and her Professional Clear Credential from Mt. St. Mary's University. She has devoted her career to education; working with students ranging in age from preschool through college.
Trained by reading specialists in Boston, Ms. Allen began her career working with pre-schools and after school centers to create literacy rich environments and programs that facilitated maximum learning for high-risk populations. From there she worked with college students at USC before becoming a full time teacher.
During her tenure as a teacher, she developed a love for curriculum and the integration of technology in the classroom. Ms. Allen has led numerous workshops for teachers on the use of technology in the classroom, and has had the privilege of presenting at regional and national conferences such as CUE (Computer Using Educators) and ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education).
As the Executive Director of St. Genevieve Parish Schools, her job duties include the day-to-day management of our schools, as well as managing the curriculum of St. Genevieve's academics from PK- Grade 12, ensuring that each student is reaching their potential in our classrooms. Her passion for education and the doors it opens for our students, is what drives her each day.
In addition to her responsibilities at SG, she is an adjunct professor at Mt St. Mary's University for graduate level students pursuing their Master's Degrees and Teaching Credentials.
